The “Wedding Singer” is one of my favorite movies. Tons of great lines and of course, having lived my adolescent years in the 1980′s, it brought back many memories.

Adam Sandler’s character always wanted to write a song with which everyone could identify. It wasn’t till the very end of the movie when he was trying to win the woman he loved that he sang this song. I liked the song a lot then and I still do today.

Here is my rendition, acoustic only. I decided to experiment a little and add some video.

This is one of the first pieces I wrote after learning piano. It was written with a “Prodigal Son” heart in that I looked into my past and the destructive choices that were made. It was there that Jesus’ words, “Come to me” really changed my life.

This recording is what I call a “concept” recording. By no means is it a perfect recording. I will use it to later figure out what instrumentation I will add. I wanted to share this because it is one of my favorite songs I have written. Please let me know what you think.

This is actually one of the first songs that I wrote when I was learning guitar. I was early to an appointment and had my guitar in the car and there was a chord strum that was just magical. Having just fallen in love with Tina the words literally came in just a few minutes. The deal was, if we married, the title was to have her name in it. Here is an acoustic live version of “When You’re Near: Tina’s Song.”
